Admittedly there were no off road bashing but a gentle run down to Westbay Retreat in Augusta where we met up with Al and Jen who had just completed a 3,000kms run in theirs. Set up was quick, easy and painless under Al’s watchful eyes as he’s had lots of practice. We didn’t set the awning up, rather using the 4x4 awning for shade, which is what we’ll continue to do on weekend getaways. There is a surprising amount of room inside the camper and the extra height of the tent kept the inside cool which made for comfortable nights. The kitchen was a pleasure to use and was just the right height for Kathy and I. On the road the camper behaved perfectly, tracking well behind the Jeep and despite its weight, at times it felt as though we weren’t towing anything. I checked my fuel consumption on the way down and much to my surprise we averaged only 14.5 litres per hundred kilometres. I was expecting something in the region of 17 to 18 litres/100kms. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and at the price it’s the best value for money deal I’ve had in a long time. They gave the vehicle a service check & clean to make sure that it was in tip top condition ready for sale (which I did not expect), so buyers can have confidence that they are buying a vehicle in roadworthy condition.
